Baby Ellie

Ellie is the newest addition to the Evans family. The Evans family have been loyal customers at C'est La Vie Photography for many years. We have really enjoyed being part of their lives in such a special way and watching their 3 children grow! Although they have moved to Wisconsin, they still come to our wonderful studio for their family portraits... that's true loyalty! Another Gorgeous Wedding...

Congratulations to Angie and Nick! What a beautiful couple. They were blessed with a splendid day for their wedding. We have really enjoyed working with them and look forward to a life long friendship. Thank you Angie and Nick for choosing our studio to document your most special day! We were truly honored! And, we look forward to meeting your new baby girl soon.

Cal's Market and Garden Center

Cal's Market has been a part of our lives for many years. I can remember getting our pumpkins and Christmas tree from Cal's Market as a little girl. Still to this day, all of our flowers, trees, and fresh produce are purchased from Cal's Market in Savage. Our whole family loves making our weekly visit to Cal's. Cal's Market has a wonderful way of brightening our day each and every time we visit the Market.

We were so honored to photograph Cal and his family. Bryan and Cal's daughter, Carina, have become dear friends of ours.

Mid-Summer Update

This has been a crazy, exciting, and fulfilling spring and half of summer. In addition to creating portraits for 2009 high school seniors and photographing fabulous weddings, we also photographed The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's coveted Man & Woman of the Year Campaign. The image displayed above is that of Marissa Slagg and her brand new baby son, Connor. Marissa, pregnant at the time, was a Candidate in the running for 2008 Woman of the Year. We had the honor of photographing Marissa and her brand new son at the Grand Finale, Connor being only 2 weeks old!

This is our fourth year as the Photographic Sponsors for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We were blessed with the full recovery of Shireen's mother from lymphoma in 2004. We feel it is most appropriate that we give back to this wonderful organization. This year's Man & Woman of the Year campaign raised over $200,000 which will be used towards research for a cure. Marsha, Marsha, Marsha...

We had the joy of having our wonderful photographic colleague, Marsha, visit us this past week from Chicago. We met Marsha at a PPA (Professional Photographers Association) conference in Las Vegas several years ago and we have had so much fun traveling together and sharing our photography secrets with one another. She is such a talented photographer and we have had the blessing of her sharing her many talents and helping us out during our busy seasons. We are keeping our fingers crossed that she will one day up root and move to friendly Minnesota! We all agree that the 3 of us would make a spectacular photographic team!

And so it begins...

Batter up! Baseball season is here in full force! Congratulations to our son, Garrett, for making the AA Traveling Baseball team! We are so proud of him. So, now we have added baseball to the calendar 5 days a week in addition to our all ready hectic and FUN schedule in the studio. Thank you to "Papa" for being our official baseball taxi! We always enjoy photographing his games when we can.

We are having a blast! We shot another 2009 senior rep, Chelsea, this morning and have a couple more this afternoon. New sets, new lights, wow!!! This is such an exciting time of the year.

Our little "red head..."

We had a great day in the studio yesterday with our little 4 year old son. He actually came to us and wanted to have his pictures taken! We were shocked. He proceeded to pick out his own clothes and gave us directions as to what backgrounds to use! A little photographer in the making! You will notice a few spectacular images of Grant on our website. He loves the camera and the camera loves him! What a gem! We are so proud of our two boys.

Lakeville MOPS Group.

We wanted to say thanks to Kim for inviting us to speak at their MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) at Hosannah Church on Friday. Our presentation was about how to take more artistic pictures of children and families. The audience was very receptive and asked some really good questions. A special thank you goes to the AV guys. What a treat not having to set up all of our gear. We look forward to giving more of these types of workshops in the future. Senior season 2009 is under way!

We are excited to say we shot our first senior for the school year 2009 today. Kristine, from Burnsville High School, had a great time being "the model of the day". She wore clothes ranging from casual to formal, and we even included some great shots of her goldendoodle dog. The Greatest Job on Earth!

I must admit, we have the greatest job ever! I have run into 2 of our favorite clients today... who I can now say are now FRIENDS. We are truly blessed to be able to do what we love while meeting such incredible people! What an honor to be chosen from such a sea of photographers to capture important milestones in peoples lives. We did it... We are bloggin'

Finally, we are bloggers! We are completing our new website and getting ready for the best year yet at C'est La Vie! We have had a few quiet weeks after a hectic season at the studio. We have met many fabulous people along the way. We have had the opportunity to enjoy a lot of skiing this winter but we are looking forward to summer and another great year in our business. We are having the time of our lives right now with 2 great kids, a thriving business and just enjoying what life has to offer.
